DUH Style: Pillow Pairing 101

Quinn Stinson

We have a little bit of a formula when it comes to pillow patterns– we like to mix a solid (with or without trim), an organic (floral, ikat, etc.) and a small scale or geometric.  The scales are all different, which is important! Layer in a nubby throw on a neutral sofa and you will have years of movie nights with the family. Add one of our luxurious Oushak rugs, a beach friendly sisal or a hide under foot to complete your living room look. Sneak a peek of our suggested options below!

COMBOS TO AVOID:

  • All geometric patterns together

  • All the same scale pattern

  • All the same material (we like to mix velvet, linen, wovens, fur, etc. to create texture)

FEATURED COCKTAIL BOOK

cocktailian (13).png

Join William Yeoward on his journey through London’s most stunning bars as he shares his passion for exquisite drinks and glamorous living in this, his compendium of iconic and signature recipes by some of the world’s most acclaimed bartenders.

In Glamorous Cocktails, William visits five of his favorite bars and chooses their trademark cocktails, including genius tips from their world-class bartenders. William also shares his own thoughts on making cocktails and, importantly, how to present them. As someone who is not only passionate about cocktails but also about crystal, he has the perfect knowledge and “eye” to advise and inspire. As William says, ‘Cocktails come in such a huge variety that there’s something for everyone and for every possible occasion – a birthday celebration, an anniversary, a first date, the closure of a deal or a surreptitious flirt.’ These cocktails cover a wide range – some are short, others are long, and a few contain no alcohol, but two things are common to all: they are delicious – and extremely glamorous.

Get The Look : Funky Farmhouse

Quinn Stinson

Funky Farmhouse (6).png

Funky farmhouse style is, in a lot of ways, the best of several trends from the last few years.
This look takes the best of "rustic," a touch of industrial, and the sleek elegance of "modern." It's sophisticated, without feeling pretentious or unapproachable, and it's inviting enough that you feel like you can kick back and relax. That's why we rounded up our favorite pieces that epitomize this ethos to a T.

Details

Funky farmhouse style also incorporates old and new pieces. A modern round mirror juxtaposes against a rustic antique side table. If you're looking for a more sleek look for shiplap, instead of painting white, you can add bleached wood paneling.

Farmhouse Style

Funky farmhouse style also does not have to be rustic! Our showroom shows how to create an elegant and soft look while still featuring the main tenants of the style. White wood paneling, warm wood furniture and flooring, clean lined pieces are all staples, but adding soft fabrics, warm colors, and textures into the space creates a different take.

Mix and Match

We love mixing different eras into our living spaces. Our showroom features white walls, a rustic farm table and black industrial pendants which all check the funky farmhouse boxes, but they're made more relaxed with the addition of linen slipcovered side chairs, pieces in different scales, and a tonal rug over the polished concrete floors.

Fragrance - Why we love Coqui Coqui

Quinn Stinson

static1.squarespace.png

Coqui Coqui Perfumeria stands firm as one of the founding pillars of the Coqui Coqui Lifestyle Group. At the heart of Coqui Coqui Perfumeria lies the Yucatan and Polynesia. The natural tropical scents of the Yucatan region inspire every fragrance of its dedicated collection, as does the landscape, people, culture and lifestyle, in addition to the state’s rich, centuries-old history of perfume production.

Founder and Creative Director, Nicolas Malleville, continues such lineage, rooting the Coqui Coqui Perfumeria in the Yucatan and in the new South Pacific adventure, in French Polynesia.

Each Coqui Coqui Residence and Spa has its own personalised fragrance. The dewy coconut scent of Coco Coco is inspired by the palm trees scattered along the white sand beaches of Bora Bora. The lime and mint Menli fragrance reflects the lush gardens of Coba, which has both plants growing there. The scent of Rosas Secas reflects the town of Valladolid with its strong cultural character,  specifically inspired by the deeply religious festival of Madonna de Candelaria. The Coqui Coqui Residence and Spa situated in the Yucatan’s capital of Merida, a city surrounded by tobacco plantations have seen the Tabaco born, a sophisticated warm, rich, elegant scent, much like Merida itself.

The Coqui Coqui Perfumeria Yucatan Collection boasts thirteen fragrances to date,  while the Polynesia Collection counts eight. produced as individual scents and available as other products, from bath oils to room scents and beeswax candles.

Coqui Coqui Perfumeria’s scents are transportive, encouraging the wearer to escape to a simpler, more relaxed way of life, wherever their imagination might take them...
